Carewell operates in Switzerland and mainly hosts its applications and data in Switzerland; where data processing or transfers abroad are necessary, we favour, as far as possible, countries recognized as providing an adequate level of protection within the meaning of the FADP. Where necessary, we implement appropriate safeguards, such as recognized standard contractual clauses or applicable certification mechanisms.

You can contact us at any time to ask questions about how we process and store your information. You may also request a complete deletion of your personal data at any time, except for some data that we may be required to retain for legal reasons if you have worked with us.

Carewell’s role: controller or processor?

The controller determines the purposes and means of processing personal data, whereas the processor processes it on the controller’s behalf and according to its documented instructions. Carewell’s role varies depending on the service.

For personal data collected when you browse our website and when you contact us, Carewell acts as the controller.

The website host is Infomaniak SA, Rue Eugène-Marziano 25, 1227 Geneva, Switzerland.

Carewell platform

For personal data processed through the platform, Carewell’s role depends on the product used:

• Carewell Work (placement and temporary staffing of healthcare professionals): Carewell acts as the controller, in particular for the management of applications, missions, temporary employment contracts and payroll.
• Carewell Pool (institutions managing their internal pool of professionals): Carewell acts as a processor for the client institutions, which are the controllers. In this case Carewell only processes personal data on the documented instructions of the institution concerned.

The platform’s applications and data are hosted in Switzerland (Infomaniak and Exoscale).

Where Carewell acts as a processor (Carewell Pool), this policy does not govern how your institution processes your personal data. For such processing, please refer to the information provided by your institution and exercise your rights with it.

Collection and processing of personal data

We process the personal information we receive as part of our operations, specifically the verification and management of nurse profiles and healthcare facilities, as well as the matching of both parties, and the management and documentation of shifts and legal relationships.

To the extent permitted by law, we may collect data from publicly available sources or receive such data from government agencies or other third parties for the specific purpose of entering into or performing contracts with you.

To evaluate the success of our marketing efforts and as part of our referral programs, we may collect information about how you arrived at our site.

We use several services for online meetings. We do not collect any information from these services, but the operators of these services may collect information. Please review the operator’s privacy policy before joining a meeting to learn more about their data processing and storage practices.
